Make your yearly Paul Harris Society Donation Triple in Value!

With the new Rotary fiscal year, many Rotarians are making their annual contribution to the Paul Harris Society.  These Rotarians can make their contributions worth three times as much by earmarking their regular yearly Paul Harris Society contribution for the End Polio Now campaign.  By doing so, a contribution of $1000 is matched and becomes $3000; and each gift is credited to the donor’s Rotary Club. ...Nancy Fleming, Polio Chair

A Polio Fundraising Story...The Rotary and Interact clubs of Wilmington and Manteno, IL have a great way to fund their yearly pledges to the polio eradication fund — the “Purple Pinkie Challenge.”  Each year before Wilmington High School plays Manteno High in football, their Interact and Rotary clubs sponsor a fund-raising rivalry. Both schools’ colors are purple and white, so for a donation, any student or adult can have their pinkie colored with a non-toxic purple coloring that will last 2 or 3 days or get a purple wristband. They begin their Purple Pinkie activities at school during lunchtime a few days before the big game, and continue them right up until halftime. In the end, the school/community that raises the greater amount is declared the winner amidst much celebration (and pinkie-waving during the game, of course). Last year, the four clubs donated over $1000 earmarked specifically for polio eradication with this friendly rivalry.
