Hello My Fellow District 6450 Rotarians.
It is time, once again, to begin the process of selection for our next District Governor. The candidate will serve our District, the Birthplace of Rotary, for the 2023-2024 Rotary calendar year.
Information on the expectations and responsibilities of this role might be found on the District website: rotary6450.org under “Governance”. All necessary and applicable documents are located there.
EVERYONE in our District should be involved in this process. Perhaps you, personally, have considered the position. You might self-nominate. Perhaps your club knows of an extraordinary individual. The club may invite that person to step forward. Perhaps you know of someone that is perfect and positioned to lead our District. You may nominate them. The only requirements are that this individual will have served one full year as a Club President, and be a current member-in-goodstanding within District 6450.
A District Governor candidate should be identified as a good leader, someone that inspires participation and meets the standards set by the Four-Way-Test. Strong organizational skills, adaptability, flexibility, creativity and pride in the endeavor will serve a candidate well. Someone who is open-minded, able to delegate, is not afraid to fail, who has some experience with crisis management and who embraces diversity would be well-suited to apply.
It is necessary to complete the Governor-Nominee form and have it endorsed by their home club and signed by their club secretary. It should be submitted, confidentially, along with support documentation as requested and emailed to PDG debi Ross, Chairwoman of the 2023-2024 District Governor Nominating Committee. (a list of the members of the nominating committee might be found on the District web site: Governance) debi’s email is: firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also mail your application and documents to: PDG debi Ross, Chairwoman, 2023-2024 District Governor Nominating Committee, 10734 Buck Drive, Orland Park, IL 60467. All submissions are kept confidential. The deadline for submission is Friday, November 6th, 2020 by 5:00PM. The interviews for candidates will take place on Saturday, November 21st commencing at 9AM.
On behalf of the nominating committee, our District leadership and myself, thank you for any assistance provided toward the completion of this critical process. As the Governors that have served previously would agree, serving our District, the Birthplace of Rotary, is a tremendous honor and privilege. It affords the Governor immeasurable personal and professional growth. It is an experience I would whole-heartedly recommend.
