Wade Nomura draws on his experience as a global humanitarian, community leader and Mayor of Carpinteria, successful businessman and champion athlete, to educate and inspire audiences around the world. Within Rotary, he has worked on 200 charitable projects and been on 50 international project missions. He currently serves as one of 24 Rotary Cadre Technical Coordinators worldwide. In the last 10 years, he has presented to over 200,000 people across 15 countries, illuminating how to maximize success, create impactful projects, and enhance team performance which can also be found in his book "Creating Destiny".
Wade is a charter member (2002) of the Rotary Club of Carpinteria Morning. He served as the District Governor in 2011-2012. He is a recipient of the Rotary International “Service Above Self” Award and the Rotary Foundation’s “Citation for Meritorious Service” and “Distinguished Service” Award. Wade has been on over 50 international trips for Rotary, including an NID to India, where he has a special passion, having had polio as a child.
Wade is an International Technical Coordinator of Cadres for Water Sanitation and Hygiene, and Community and Economic Development in English and Spanish speaking countries and is the North American Regional Organizer of all Cadres in all areas of focus. Wade also hosts the TV show “Rotary, Serving Our Community” at www.WeAreRotary.TV that features a number of shows on Rotary Foundation projects.
Wade has been involved with projects in nearly 30 different countries on 5 different continents for Rotary. As a Foundation Cadre, he has evaluated 20 Global Grant projects totaling $3.5 million and benefitting over 1 million people. He is also a member of the Haiti HANWASH steering committee and serves as the grant coordinator.
At the local level, Wade is the president of an award-winning landscape company, is the Mayor of the City of Carpinteria, and author of the book “Creating Destiny”.
