News for Clubs in Rotary International District 6450
Hello District 6450 Rotarians….

It is hard to believe we are seven weeks into the new Rotary year.Your District Leadership team is busy moving forward on programs and events meant to enhance your Rotary experience and grow membership in our organization.

We are working to review the by-laws by which we operate and bring them into the 21st century. We are reviewing the Strategic Plan for the 2020-2023 years. The finance committee is working to be certain the district is a good steward of the monies entrusted to us, continually looking for ways to do what we do better and more cost effectively. Our membership team has developed a plan to bring membership ideas and programs to each of our clubs. We’ll be talking about “EACH ONE, REACH ONE”. The Foundation Road shows will return to clubs this season and will promote our Foundations #1 ranking on Charity Navigator. Fall training will be informative, educational AND FUN; you’ll want to “tune-in”.

Our Assistant Governors have begun the club “healthchecks” in an effort to be certain, as we invite and welcome new members to our clubs that these clubs are inviting and open to all. Our Women’s initiative continues with our first event at the Rosemont Horizon on October 5th. The Big Bodacious Celebration of the leaders, members and clubs of Rotary International District 6450, formerly known as a District Conference is just 255 days away. Are you registered?
Bookings for the 2020 International Convention in Hawaii are at an all-time high. With about 300 days to go, we’re at 101% of our attendance goal (66 so far). If you are going, make your plans now…a few rooms remain available in the district block of rooms…Find me!

In keeping with this year’s theme of Rotary Connects the World, please send all your club events and happenings to the district web site and Facebook page via: Let’s be sure to invite everyone to your events not just your own club members. We’ll keep the district web site up-to-date, please check it with great regularity.

Are you inviting your friends, colleagues, neighbors, co-workers and most importantly, your family to your Rotary meetings and events? Growth is possible if we reach out and invite people in! Think about your community leaders, retirees, teachers, business leaders, first responders, etc. How can they join us, if they don’t know who we are and what we do?

I am energized by the attendance at our AG meetings and President’s Roundtables. We’ll promise to make them worthwhile and informative…but mostly FUN. Each time we gather we invite those present to speak to who they are and what they do…many new connections have been made through this exchange of information. Remember to Network at your club events and meetings. Paul Harris set the stage over 100 years ago…let’s keep it as part of our identity.

Don’t forget to post what you are doing to Social Media sites….I’m looking for pictures of our team members in action!!! Think Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat, etc.

Thank you for all you do and are doing. It is a privilege to be in your company and I look forward to my club visits which will begin at the end of this month. Continued success to each of you as we work to grow our District and “connect the world”.
Governor, 2019-2020
